The World Bank replies to the recommendations of 25 civil society groups on the new energy strategy consultations made in Peru, Brazil and Mexico.
In a response to the letter sent by several civil society groups on the new energy strategy consultations, the World Bank outlines its efforts on maintaining an open and transparent process throughout the whole process. These efforts include giving oppportunities for groups to express their concerns through the web and by requesting meetings.
The Bank also expresses the difficulties in including all interested parties in the consultation process because of the regional scope of the projects. It also explains how some of the recommendations will be included in future consultations and invites interested groups to further participate in the process by commenting on a preliminary strategy that will be published shortly.
