"The Source", a CEE Bankwatch Network film about the Baku-Tiblisi-Ceyhan pipeline project in Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey, premiered on April 29, 2005 at the One World Film Festival in Prague.
"The Source" by Martin Mereck of CEE Bankwatch Network documents the resistance of local communities along the route of the Baku-Tiblisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline who are being robbed of their means of livelihood as the world's energy resources are captured for profit. The movie premiered during the One World International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival held in Prague from April 27-May 5. The movie was positively received by the jury as well as the audience. It won the Grand Jury Honorable Mention and the Plzensky Prazdroj Aucience Award.
