Dr. Toga McIntosh was elected Executive Director for these countries on November 1, 2008. Born in Liberia, McIntosh has held several prestigious postings in the field of economics both in Liberia and in other countries such as Ethipoia, where he served as Senior Economic Affairs Officer for the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, and in Botswana, where he was Development Consultant and Managing Director for Development Management Inc. Before joining the World Bank, he was the Minister of Planning and Economic Affairs in Liberia. McIntosh finished his B.Sc. in Statistics from the University of Tennessee, his M.A. in Development Economics from Williams College in Massachusetts, and an M.Sc in Development Theory from Boston University. He completed his PhD in Economics from University of Ife in Nigeria.
