FTA Watch–India aims to provide news and documents from newspapers and civil society groups around the world about India's Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), as well as progressive and alternative initiatives regarding FTAs.
India is actively negotiating at least a dozen Free Trade Agreements (FTAs). Many of these are at an advanced stage and have far reaching adverse impacts on India's people, its environment and its policy space. Recently, a Forum on FTAs was formed to understand and intervene in this undemocratic and non-transparent process. In light of these events, Intercultural Resources has launched a weekly digest to provide up to date information on these negotiations as well as information about alternatives to the free trade agenda.
