New crisis in the Nile: geologist warns that Egypt may lose 8mn cubic mtrs of water for next 20 yrs

Will the new crisis in the Nile affect the implementation of the West Delta project?

Dr. Rushdy Said, an Egyptian geologist, says that Egypt will suffer from water problems this summer. This is the first summer after the building of the new dam in Sudan. Said also doesn't know anything about how the Egyptian government is preparing to deal with this problem. There is no disclosure of any related policies and he was unable to find any government resources related to this matter. Dr. Said is worried abuot how the new Sudanese infra-structure in the Nile will affect Egypt's water quota, and how the Egyptian government will react to such a problem.

If the West Delta Project (financed by the World Bank) was based on the assumption that the Egyptian quota of Nile water remains consistent, how will the new treaty affect this project?
