At a series of ongoing consultations, many civil society actors have asked the U.S. to sign the U.N. Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. BIC's Mark Rentschler and WRI's Kirk Herbertson discuss the importance of the declaration to work on the IFIs.
These videos were filmed by the Indian Law Resource Center at a recent consultation that the State Department held to discuss the U.S. position. For more information about the consultations and the Declaration, please visit www.indianlaw.org. If you would like to send a letter to President Obama on the Declaration, please click here. NGOs should review the draft sign on letter and contact ILRC if they would like to be included.
