EIR follow-up Workshop December 11-14
26 October 2005
Coinciding with the proposed time for release of WB Progress Report on EIR implementation, on December 11-14, 2005 CEE Bankwatch and BIC will host a workshop in Washington, DC to highlight WBG performance on the implementation of EIR recommendations.
CEE Bankwatch and BIC will host a workshop on December 11-14, 2005, to highlight World Bank Group (WBG) performance on the implementation of EIR recommendations. Over the past several months, case studies assessing the WBG’s implementation of the EIR were conducted in Europe and Central Asia (ECA). The case studies will largely reflect a list of EIR progress indicators prepared by Bankwatch and BIC. To view the full methodology and indicators follow this link:
While the primary purpose of the workshop is to present the EIR project case studies and an overall EIR Status Report, there will also be opportunities for CSOs to meet with World Bank Executive Directors to advocate enhanced implementation of the EIR and to participate in a CSO planning session.
Although the case studies that are currently underway only represent the ECA region, Bankwatch and BIC would like to invite individuals to contribute case studies from other regions and to participate in the workshop. If you are interested in conducting a case study, providing suggestions regarding the progress indicators, or attending the workshop, please contact Heike Mainhardt-Gibbs at: or Petr Hlobil at: .
