BIC Submits Comments on International Finance Corporation Draft Policies

These comments address transparency and consultation concerns with the draft IFC Disclosure Policy, Social and Environmental Sustainability Policy and Performance Standards.
On November 23 the Bank Information Center, with input from Article 19, UK, and Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative, India, submitted comments to the International Finance Corporation addressing transparency and consultation concerns with the draft IFC Disclosure Policy, Sustainability Policy and Performance Standards. These comments compliment BIC's April 2005 submission regarding IFC’s Disclosure Policy Framework note, which released prior to the first round of public consultations. The IFC’s Policy Review officially ended on November 25, 2005. A final draft of the IFC Disclosure Policy, Sustainability Policy and Performance Standards will be sent to the Board for possible approval in late-January 2006.
