World Bank on track to relieve the debt of 18 countries

Funding for debt relief, supported by G8 nations, produces questions about the International Development Association’s (IDA) ability to lend money to the world’s poorest nations in the future.
Following the committments of G8 countries last year to erase the burdensome debt of 18 nations, World Bank board officials recently stated that plans to cover the first 10 years of debt relief were nearly formalized while the following 40 years were less certain.
