Over 60 organizations sign letter critiquing World Bank's new HNP strategy

More than 60 civil society organizations from developed and developing nations, signed on to a letter addressed to President Wolfowitz expressing concern over the Bank's new Health, Nutrition, and Population (HNP) strategy.

The letter lists CSOs suggestions for strategy plan improvements, as well as addressing a 'background note' from May 30th, which the CSOs argue omits essential elements and relies on flawed assumptions leading to harmful reforms. The letter comes as the World Bank's HNP division is preparing to develop a new 10 year strategy.
