23 February 2007
The World Bank's Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA) has posted draft policies for public comment until April 27, 2007.
The Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), a private sector arm of the World Bank Group which provides guarantees for foreign direct investment, is proposing to adopt a new disclosure policy and new social and environmental policies and performance standards. MIGA's new policies will be based on the policies and standards recently adopted at MIGA's sister institution, the International Financial Corporation (IFC), with minor variations to take account of the differences in the business lines of the two institutions.
On February 21, MIGA opened a public commenting period on the draft policies. The public is invite to provide comments until midnight on April 27, 2007. To read the draft policies and submit your proposals, please visit MIGA’s online commentary tool.
