The American Enterprise Institute, one of the nation's most influential and conservative think tanks, announced hiring Paul Wolfowitz as a visiting scholar yesterday.
AEI president Christopher DeMuth said Mr. Wolfowitz will work on development issues, entrepreneurship and public-private partnerships, with a focus on Africa.
Based in Washington, D.C., AEI is considered a major influence in foreign policy under the Bush administration. Wolfowitz served as an adviser there prior to joining the Pentagon in 2001.
According to its Web site, “AEI's purposes are to defend the principles and improve the institutions of American freedom and democratic capitalism—limited government, private enterprise, individual liberty and responsibility, vigilant and effective defense and foreign policies, political accountability, and open debate.”
