Rogério Studart was elected Executive Director for Brazil, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Haiti, Panama, Philippines, Suriname, and Trinidad & Tobago on June 20, 2007. Prior to joining the World Bank, he worked as a Financial Markets Specialist (2003-2004) at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and later was appointed Executive Director for Brazil and Suriname for that institution from 2004 until his arrival at the World Bank in June 2007. Studart has also served as a Macroeconomist for the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean in Santiago, Chile and holds a PH.D. in Economics from the University College of London, U.K.
