Michel Mordasini was appointed Executive Director at the World Bank Group on May 17, 2006. He began his term of office on November 1, 2006, succeeding Pietro Veglio.
Prior to joining the World Bank, Mordasini worked for the International Committee of the Red Cross (1981-1988), the Swiss Agency for International Development and Cooperation (1988 - 1994). Mr. Mordasini holds a degree in economics and attended the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva, where he specialized in international economic and development issues. He was born on August 12, 1954 in Geneva, Switzerland.
