EBRD presents draft of its revised Environmental and Social Policy

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) recently published a draft of its newly revised Environmental and Social Policy. EBRD is soliciting public comments on the draft policy document until April 9, 2008.
On February 25, 2008 the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) published a draft of its newly revised Environmental and Social Policy. EBRD is soliciting public comments on the draft policy document until April 9, 2008. Additionally, between March 26 and April 8, 2008 EBRD will hold day-long public consultations in Budapest, Belgrade, Moscow, Tbilisi, Bishkek and London. In late April, EBRD will produce and submit the second draft of the document, along with summaries of public comments and its responses, to the EBRD Board of Directors for approval.
It is an important opportunity for civil society organizations to submit their comments and questions about the bank’s environmental and social safeguards electronically or raise concerning issues during public consultation workshops.
