The Bautino Atash Marine and Supply Base in Kazakhstan is situated near Atash village on the Caspian Sea, north of Aktau. It is being developed by Balykshy LLP, a subsidiary of Caspian Services Inc., to support nearby oil operations, most notably, the Kashagan development.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is supporting two phases in the development of the Bautino base. The first, disclosed in 2006, involves the construction of the Bautino Atash Marine and Supply Base. The Bautino II stage followed in 2008 to construct the Vessel Maintenance Facility, operated by a joint venture between Nico International Ltd (50%), Balykshy LLP (20%), and Kazmortransflot (30%). Combined, the projects have a total cost of over $95 million.
