Ameen joined BIC in February 2008 as an intern with the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Program. He works with the MENA Manager and Associate to fulfill the 2008 program workplan. Currently, Ameen is pursuing an M.A. in International Affairs, with a focus on International Economic Relations, at American University's School of International Service in Washington D.C. Prior to starting his masters program, Ameen worked for various organizations in Yemen, his home country, such as the United Nations Population Fund, Social Fund for Development, and Yemen LNG Company Ltd. Ameen is interested in the work and policy of the international financial institutions throughout the world and in the MENA region in particular. He also has some research interests in economic and political reforms in the Middle East, specifically in Yemen. Ameen speaks Arabic and English.
